Beta: A beta version is the first version released outside the organization or community that develops the software. Beta-level software generally includes all features, but may also include known issues and bugs of a less serious variety.
Gantt Chart: Visual representation of the Work Breakdown Structure. May also display who is working on each task.
Mashup: a web application that combines data and/or functionality from more than one source (Wikipedia). Could include using web-based applications in conjunction with traditional software applications (e.g., using a wiki with MS Project).
Open source software: refers to any program whose source code is made available for use or modification as users see fit (Knapp & Neder 2006)
Project Objective Statment (POS): Establishes a project's scope, schedule, and resources in 25 words or less. It avoids jargon and is clear and concise.
URL: Uniform Resource Locator, a protocol for specifying addresses on the Internet.
Virtual War Room: A headquarters for a project or any purpose in a centrally located online environment that is easily accessible.
Wiki: A piece of server software that allows users to create and update webpages easily and rapidly either through a hosted site on the Internet or on the company intranet. Since the pages are posted in a central location, anyone with access can log on and start editing.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS): A hierarchical breakdown of all work required to achieve the scope portion of the project objective.
