Structure Your Wiki

Weave Wikis into the Workflow

• Make wikis a key part of workflow that *all* employees participate in by:

  • Creating Team Member pages that each person has ownership of

  • Centralizing information such as company policies or logins for accounts so co-workers know where to go and don't have to bug the Office Manager

  • Putting up meeting notifications and sign ups, as well as keeping minutes on the wiki page throughout the session

  • Using a wiki page as a sign-out sheet for small equipment or for conference rooms

Everyone Likes to be Rewarded for Good Behavior

• Don't forget to praise the pioneers and champions of your wiki

• Offer free lunch at training session

• Offer a $5 Starbucks gift card to the first person who accurately uses the wiki to sign out equipment or complete other regular project tasks

• Organize a happy hour using the wiki and refuse to send an email out about it

• Make sure you thank people when they save you time by using the wiki instead of sending out 5 emails
